Proverbs 2:7-8
He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
I remember singing this song during summer camp as a teenager,
My Lord knows the way through the wilderness,
All I have to do is follow,
Strength for today is mine all the way,
And all that I need for tomorrow.
In that simple song is a mouthful of theology. The way of the upright is protected by the Lord because he is our constant companion in life. To be upright, blameless, and just is to yield our life to the ways of God's wisdom, rather than following our own or the world's wisdom.
Victory is within our grasp, if we would only in the words of the old hymn, “trust and obey” God today.
I am so thankful today for the wisdom, knowledge & understanding that the Lord gives through His Word (v. 6)
